What is new on the Seller Disclosure Statement?
Starting June 11, 2026, sellers are required to disclose if the property contains a "family burial ground, mausoleum, or columbarium". Please note that this relates to human remains.
Another change isn't quite as interesting but important. If a seller answers "yes" to there being modifications or remodeling to the property, seller has to disclose whether homeowner's association approvals were obtained for those changes.
The last I will mention has to do with a property in which the buyer recieves a resale certificate (usually with a condo sale). Now, a buyer is not liable for alterations to a unit that went against HOA rules if the authorized agent should have known about it and didn't identify it in the resale certificate.
